I've been running Red Box for three years now, but it's only this year, when the business has been performing well, that I've actually thought, "What am I going to do at Christmas?"

Working in the corporate sector in London, there were no end of drinks parties, boozy lunches and evenings to make a spectacle of yourself at!  But running a business on one's own, does mean that I'm not able to indulge quite so much as in the past!

But does that mean that I'm not going to be celebrating Christmas and the success of Red Box this year?  Oh no.  I'm celebrating in my own imitable style, of course!
So what shall I do?

I could get in touch with all the other solo-preneurs I know in my area and we could have a fabulous lunch in a great restaurant.

  • I could celebrate virtually with my colleagues around the world, creating a page on my website for everyone to share what they have been up to this year.
  • I could host a little drinks party, inviting those that I've connected with through Red Box at networking events and on-line.
  • I could put together a little 'thank you' hamper to send to clients.
  • I could put up some decorations, play cheesy carols at high volume and make mulled wine and mince pies.
I'm still not sure how I will celebrate Christmas for Red Box.

However, I know that I will celebrate in some way, (probably with a glass of bubbles or two).  But I will also make time for reflection and to give thanks for the opportunities that have come my way during 2008.

Whichever way you chose to celebrate your successes of 2008, I hope you have a wonderful time.

With best wishes for a peaceful and warm Christmas.
