Star Shaper? Who Has The Time?
July 20, 2009 11:07 am How to Work BetterI was recently reading an article entitled ‘Star Shaper’ in the latest edition of Vogue Portugal.
The article, written by Jamie Rosen, was about Tracy Anderson, personal trainer to the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna and Penélope Cruz. Rosen paid (or rather, I’m sure, Vogue paid) Anderson at least $1,700 a month to have Anderson, or one of her side kicks, ‘get her fit’ and then some.
The basic program runs over seven weeks, with training sessions six days a week for 90 minutes each day.
Wow! How does one fit it in?
Ok, so we’re not dealing with mere mortals here (see above), but what with work, commuting, household chores, kids, partner, seeing friends & sleeping, how does anyone have the time, let alone the energy, to devote to this?
I used to manage, back in the days of civvy street, 45 mins in the gym 3 times a week, if I was lucky and the boss was having a good day. Now, I’m my own boss, and can set my own hours, and can spend as long as I want to running or at a yoga class.
But my weekends are my own and I like my lie in!
I guess it’s a case of priorities, about time management, about what you consider absolutely necessary and what can wait. May be it’s a question of being able to delegate tasks, freeing up the time to do what’s important for you. Maybe Gwynnie has a VA..!
